Smile
I saw this board outside a pub few weeks ago.What it says is very true. Right in the heart of the cosmopolitan city of London, I hear different languages and accents spoken everyday. But what remains the same across colours and races is that smile which, sadly, people, including myself, are not too generous to give at times. During this season of Lent, let us try to fast from grumpiness and smile more often. 🙂
Major, major!
While watching the coverage of the Japan earthquake and tsunami less than an hour after it happened, I heard an international news correspondent saying, ‘this is a major, major earthquake!’. I remember Venus Raj and her ‘major, major’ answer in the Miss Universe pageant. This season of Lent, this Miss Universe question is probably one of the many that I will reflect on – (“What is one big mistake you’ve made in your life and what did you do to make it right?”)
Falls for the second time
“The pain of his wounds and the loss of blood increasing at every step of his way, again his strength fails him, and he falls to the ground a second time.” This is not an excerpt from a novel or a song. This is an image of a man that lingered in me overnight after I joined the station of the cross last night. Yes, I have succumbed to the intense drama of Lent. Others might call it weird, but who cares, it brings a natural high beyond explanation.

Beautiful comments of what you have seen and witnessed… True, one of the ‘major, major’ calamities that happened in recent years is the Japan big earthquake and tsunami. Hopefully, the Japanese will recover from the “doomsday” they suffered. Most of them are not Christians. I really do not know how they could cope with their affliction.
During this Lenten Season, the Christians will be more ‘contrite’ to atone for whatever ‘major’, major’ mistakes and sins they might have committed. And the Redeemer will lovingly pour down his mercy on them…Truly Lent is the acceptable time for ‘salvation’.
